A cake smash is a fun, messy, joy-filled photo session celebrating your baby’s first birthday (or even second)! We capture their curiosity, giggles, and sweet chaos as they explore their very own cake – it’s a milestone you’ll never forget.
Most families book around 11 months so you have the photos in time for birthday invites or celebrations. But we can schedule closer to or after their birthday too – it’s totally up to you!
We leave the cake choice to you for allergy and preference reasons, but we’re happy to share local baker recommendations who make smash-friendly cakes. Think soft, colorful, and baby-safe!
We’ll send a styling guide with outfit ideas that look great and can get a little messy! Many families choose a cute outfit for pre-cake portraits, and then a fun romper or diaper cover for the smash itself. We also have some adorable studio wardrobe pieces available depending on your session option.
Absolutely! From sweet florals to jungle fun, we love creating custom setups to match your vision. Let us know your ideas or color palette and we’ll design something magical. Again please book the session option for set design.
Cake smash sessions usually last 60–90 minutes, giving your little one time to warm up, explore, and enjoy without feeling rushed.
Your full gallery will be ready in about 7-14 days. We also offer albums and prints that make perfect keepsakes or birthday gifts for family. This will be a further 2 weeks from when you place your order.
